Smarter Grid Solutions delivers Active Network Management (ANM) - the distributed control technology that is needed to manage Distributed Energy Resources. Active Network Management is the engine of the smart grid - allowing ‘grid edge’ integration of distributed and renewable energy resources and managing their behaviour. It means that Distribution Utilities can maximise return from existing assets. Distributed Generators can get fast, flexible connections to the grid at greatly reduced costs. Islands can easily balance local grid constraints, Microgrids can increase resiliency and integrate renewables. We are the only smart grid technology provider that
addresses the challenge using real-time, autonomous, and deterministic control. Our products are delivering cost and reliability benefits right now to customers around the world.
Company History
2003 Research project commences.
2007 Field trial of autonomous generation control.
2008 Company founded.
2009 UK's first fully operational smart grid - Orkney RPZ
2010 Key role in DG for security of supply, demand response and EV integration.
2011 First project in mainland Europe.
2012 Bloomberg New Energy Finance Pioneer, secured major new projects with UK Power Networks and SSEPD and first major project with SP Energy Networks.
2013 First projects with Western Power Distribution and Northern Powergrid.
2014 First projects with ConEdison and Southern Company. Launch of NYC office. First framework contract win for ANM roll-out with SSEPD.
